2018 reference from the Robbens in Tonbridge

This a long due review...it’s not that I didn’t have the time to sit down and write one - I was sat for hours in front of the window admiring our new driveway??. To say that Pete and Ian did fantastic job will be a underestimation!

As you can see from the pictures, when they arrived the front garden (we also had the side done) was in a “state”. Not much light coming through the windows, random plants, shrubs and bushes...there even is a manhole which we never knew existed. As we are on a slight slope, when it rained, the water from the surrounding couple of houses would all flow into our garden and clog it. The front was unwelcoming and gave unpleasant impression.

I never had a driveway built before and had no idea what to expect. I saw a project which Pete and Ian completed for a house nearby and loved the attention to detail, the front of that house really stands out too. From the get go to the end, everything Ian and Pete touched was done to perfection. No detail was overlooked and no shortcut was taken...they could have done and I wouldn’t have noticed, however both of them are way too honest to do that.

Ian asked us to pick bricks and give design ideas...we asked him to guide us and followed his advice (30+ years in the trade=abundance of experience). Choosing to go with Ian’s advice was a wise move..I dread to think what would’ve been had we stuck to our ideas. The project didn’t go without hindrance, we discovered the manhole??...and the plan of having a straight wall had to be scrapped. Ian reassured us and instead Pete build a beautiful sweeping wall which actually turned into a feature.

At no point did we feel that Peter and Ian were in a rush, at no point did they stop working as hard as they say they arrived and at no point did they take long time to sit and chat over a cup of tea. While the construction was going, every single day the site was left clean, tidy and secure (as we have young family). There is no radio playing and no offensive language being used (or shouting a conversation for that matter). Both Peter and Ian are impressively punctual (bearing in mind they live an hour drive from where we are and are heavily dependent on traffic) at no point did I get call to be told they will be late. It was 8am every single day without fail.

If you are looking for perfection and job done to a very high standard I would very highly recommend Ian and Peter. They are wizards in Landscaping and have a huge wealth of knowledge. Word of advice, getting hold of Ian initially requires patience, he does throw himself into the going projects and is very busy, so allow some time. Once he starts a job his attention will be 100% on the project. Thank you Peter and Ian. The house looks much lighter and finally the front matches the inside of the house, we got a lot of positive feedback from our neighbors about the finished driveway. Laying pathway around garden building, laying pipework to soakaway

We had used Ian Salmon years ago to lay a long crazy paying path and patio area together with some steps. This was completed perfectly. This time the work was not so extensive but again the standard was excellent. He originally came to give us a comprehensive estimate plus helping us with our planning ideas. Then gave no pressure to go ahead with the work and has been friendly and helpful throughout. Peter is also a very good competent worker and leaves the site in clean order. Would recommend the company at any time.

Repair of existing patio

The company, mainly Peter, had originally laid this patio some 25 years ago. It was beginning to sink in an area that was built round a tree stump. The tree stump over the years has rotted away leaving very little foundation underneath. The rest of the patio and walling laid 25yrs ago is still going strong! Peter came and took up an area of patio, laid foundations and relaid stones and pointed the area. All the work was done efficiently and tidily and with minimum of disruption to us. It now looks as good as new and everyone who visits says how good it now looks. I would certainly recommend this company.

Completely changed garden to enable wheelchair access

Completely changed garden to enable wheelchair access. The change in the garden is amazing and we now have a lovely garden in which we can sit in and our disabled granddaughter can now get access to all areas in her wheelchair when she visits. Thank you so much.
